Coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr has pleaded with the NFF(Nigeria Football Federation) president, Amaju Pinnick not to sack him yet because he still has a lot to offer the Super Eagles, reports searchsport.org.
The coach in his video message shared on the Super Eagles Twitter handle said “Happy birthday, president, it’s four and half years that we have been together, and I hope that when it is your birthday in December, you won’t sack me yet(laugh).
“I hope that we go further and win this AFCON and possibly the world cup together, he said”.
The NFF(Nigeria Football Federation) president turned 50 years. Victor Osimhen also congratulated the president and many of his colleagues.
He ( Amaju Pinnick, former Delta State FA Chairman) and the Super Eagles coach have being working for more than four years now and will hope it continues till 2022 when his contract will expire.
It has been in the Franco-German coach tradition to always qualify for major tournaments with matches to spare. He will hope to do so again this AFCON qualifier.
He took the Super Eagles to the FIFA World Cup in Russia and made it to the semifinals round of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
But many have been doubting the German tactician ability of late following the Super Eagles disappointing display against the Sierra Leone in November.
Where both matches ended in a draw. A 4-4 in Benin, Nigeria and a goalless draw in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
Even as at that, the Coach of the Super Eagles has stated that he enjoyed every bit of his time and will like to continue working with the federation.
