Arsenal playmaker,Mesut Ozil is on the verge of signing a permanent deal with Istanbul club Fenerbahce after being left out of the club squad by Mikel Arteta’s, report searchsport.org
The Gunners playmaker will be singing a three and a half year deal if it goes according to plan with the Turkish champions.
The Germary 2014 World Cup winner posted a picture of himself on his Twitter handle with the caption “This city….. #throwback #Istanbul” to verify the move.
Fenerbahce chairman Ali Koc and the team director Emre Belozoglu flew out to London to convince Ozil according to Sports daily Fanatik. Ozil who is also of Turkish origin to make a move to the Turkish side.
Report also claimed offers have come from MLS and DC United.
Ozil who is out of favour and not in coach Mikel Arteta’s plan joined the Gunners from Real Madrid in 2013 and has now become the highest paid player in the Premier League club’s history with a pay of £350,000 ($480,000) a week.
The move to Turkey will see Ozil earn less at Fenerbahce as report says the proposed deal will worth five million euros ($6.1 million) a year.
Fenerbahce is one of the big clubs in Turkey and are currently sit fifth in the Super Lig.
Mesut Ozil and Turkish President are friends as he was Ozil’s best man at his wedding which was in 2019 in Turkey.
